Ashtarak is one of the most ancient cities in Armenia
It was first mentioned in documents in the 9th century. It has preserved many old monuments and buildings: the Tsiranavor Church and the Church of St. Sarkis, as well as a medieval cemetery with khachkars.
Most of all, Ashtarak is valued and loved for the fact that it has preserved ancient traditions and the way of old life. The appearance of the city conveys its national flavor.
